Operations Executive/Manager

Job Description:
  • Provision of operations support to the commercial department by managing all operational affairs of the owned, managed and voyage or time-chartered in fleet
  • Communicating with master, agents and brokers in daily vessel operations
  • Accurately and efficiently handling voyage and post-fixture operations in voyage software (Shipnet), and liaising with the chartering and commercial teams to produce final voyage results
  • Handling physical post-fixture operations both internally and externally, including appointment of agents, voyage documentation, bunkering and port expenses
  • Handling hire, freight and demurrage due to and from charterers
  • Display and develop astute commercial acumen, and execute directions with utmost professionalism.

Experience:
  • At least three years of experience in the shipping industry; successful applicants with less experience will be offered Operations Executive
  • Sound shipping knowledge, with an understanding of bills of ladings, voyage documentation, c/p terms and trade requirements
  • Excellent command of English required
  • Experience with voyage software (particularly Shipnet) strongly preferred
  • The successful candidate will be a team player who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and who is motivated to achieve the best possible result on each voyage as a team effort

Chartering Managers

Cetus Maritime has ambitious growth plans and is looking for talented, dynamic, ambitious individuals to join its international chartering teams in 9 offices, but particularly in Singapore, Melbourne, Hamburg, Sao Paolo and the US.

This is an unrivalled opportunity for a principal’s role, which offers the chance to be a part of highly experienced & motivated team where both individual and team contributions are highly encouraged and positively perceived.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for chartering business ranging from Handysize – Ultramax vessels
  • Book and secure cargoes on both prompt and forward basis in line with the company’s strategy
  • Charter in & out tonnage as required to perform the company’s cargo book and achieve forward coverage
  • Rate business and perform accurate charter calculations
  • Manage post-fixture voyage matters and liaise with operations staff
  • Display and develop astute commercial acumen, support growth strategies and execute decisions with utmost professionalism.

Experience:
  • 4-10 years of experience, having worked at a broker/owner/charterer’s desk in the dry bulk segment.
  • Thorough chartering knowledge, with a sound understanding of c/p terms and trade requirements
  • Global markets understanding with the ability to follow and understand shipping market developments
  • Key connections with trades, clients and commodities
  • The successful candidate will be an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, but also a team player who is open to discuss, debate and challenge every idea brought by each team member to transform these ideas into profitable decisions.
